As well as working as a stonemason and bricklayer on house projects, Chester likes to create large and small sculptures that utilise his skills as an artist as well. This ranges from totems, coffee table tops, and sundials, to his distinctive stone spheres - set on bearings to allow them to spin freely.​

These stone artworks are made from a lime sand border set with miniature stonework to create images, patterns, and even landscapes.

​Each Zen Plaque is unique and is usually made with small chips of stone  that are produced when preparing larger pieces of stone for laying, drift plastic, and other found objects.

Chester has been working in the medium of painting for several years now, and favours acrylic paint and resin. His work tends to be ocean focussed, abstract, or focus on portraiture, and is usually presented on canvas, or board.
